POSITION SUMMARY

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests while delivering exceptional customer service. This role ensures all drinks are made to standard, maintains a clean and organized bar area, and adheres to all safety and alcohol service regulations. The bartender works closely with kitchen staff to create a welcoming atmosphere and contribute to the success of the business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure consistency in recipes and presentation.
Complete all side work during their shift.
Properly handle food and money.
Maintain par levels and inventory control.
Provide a positive guest experience.
Prepare the bar area before, during, and after the shift.
Use FIFO procedures and notify appropriate personnel of low stock.
Ensure supplies, materials, and products are available for the shift.
Act as cashier for servers when necessary.
Prevent service to minors and intoxicated persons.
Provide opening and closing inventory of spirits.
Maintain cleanliness by disposing of waste, cleaning glassware, and wiping down bar and preparation areas.
Wear the proper uniform and present a warm, welcoming, and genuine attitude.
Step in for other staff as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Attend staff meetings as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Must have or be able to obtain eTIPS, Servsafe, and TAM certifications or equivalent as required.
Ability to manage crises calmly, including upset guests and emergency situations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required.
Must be computer proficient and familiar with office equipment.
Minimum one year of high-volume bar experience required.
Experience in a high-end hotel preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.
