Title: Bartender

Summary: The Bartender is responsible for greeting customers, taking drink and food orders, mixing ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and sugar to prepare cocktails and other beverages, serving beer and other drinks, and completing transactions. The role includes communicating ticket times and potential issues to management and servers, providing excellent customer service at all times, and performing other duties as assigned. This is a non-exempt position typically reporting to the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or General Manager.

Essential Functions:

Greet customers and take food and drink orders, provide product information, and identify opportunities to upsell
Follow recipes and product directions for mixing beverages
Collect payments and operate cash registers following company cash handling policies; secure monies at shift end
Follow alcohol awareness procedures to prevent intoxication and manage intoxicated guests
Comply with all customer service, adult beverage, and cash handling policies and procedures
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and well-stocked bar area

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

Must meet state minimum age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages
At least 1 year of bartending experience required; experience in high-volume or fast casual dining preferred
Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits as well as preparation and presentation techniques; stay updated on beverage recipes
Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner
Ability to read, speak, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents
Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Cash handling and customer service experience preferred
Frequent immersion of hands in water and diluted chemical solutions

Location: Anchorage Airport Food & Beverage Pay: $13.00 per hour
