Title: Bartender
Summary of Position: To provide fresh, delicious, high-quality drinks in a fun atmosphere with speedy service. Make guests feel welcome, as if our home is their home and a place they wish to spend their time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet each guest by introducing yourself, shaking their hand, upselling beverages, and making suggestions tailored to each guest's preferences.
- Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks following the restaurant’s standard recipes.
- Learn the names and personally recognize regular guests.
- Record drink orders accurately and promptly in the Micros system.
- Accept guest payments, process credit card charges, and make change if applicable.
- Wash and sterilize glassware.
- Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks and appetizers for bar patrons.
- Maintain bottles and glasses attractively and functionally to support efficient drink preparation and beverage promotion.
- Clear and reset tables in the bar area.
- Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions about beverages.
- Maintain cleanliness in all bar areas, including counters, floors, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage.
- Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
- Report equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
- Assist in restocking and replenishing bar inventory and supplies.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth, efficient restaurant operation as directed by the manager or supervisor.
- Take a leadership role on the floor to ensure all guests have the best experience.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Minimum of 2 years bartending experience.
- Able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
- Working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drink recipes.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
- Physical ability to stand for up to 5 hours, as well as reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 pounds.
