Bartender Position

Start Date: Tentatively set for August 17, 2026

Position Summary: The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering exceptional guest service. Key duties include mixing drinks according to recipes, taking orders, providing recommendations, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar, managing inventory and supplies, processing payments accurately using the POS system, and ensuring compliance with alcohol laws and company policies. The role contributes to creating a welcoming atmosphere and will report directly to the Beverage Supervisor.

Essential Functions:

Practice and promote the company culture and exemplary service standards.
Mix and serve a variety of drinks including cocktails, wine, and beer using established recipes.
Greet guests, assess their preferences, take orders, and offer recommendations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including glassware, spirits, mixers, and garnishes.
Monitor and manage bar inventory, assist with supply orders to prevent shortages.
Process guest payments accurately through the POS system, handle cash and credit transactions, balance cash at shift end, and resolve discrepancies.
Provide excellent service, address guest concerns professionally, and ensure a positive guest experience.
Know the food menu when applicable and assist with upselling or taking food orders as assigned.
Perform opening and closing procedures including bar setup, inventory checks, and securing the premises.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Excellent communication skills, attentiveness, and a friendly, polished demeanor.
Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation, mixology techniques, and drink recipes, including premium spirits, wine, and beer.
Attention to detail for precise drink preparation and accurate order processing.
Ability to multitask and manage guest requests efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with health, safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations, including verifying legal drinking age.
Adaptability and positive attitude when handling unexpected situations.
Ability to work effectively with beverage and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
Skills to address guest complaints and resolve issues effectively.
Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
Strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum two years bartending experience in a food and beverage hospitality environment (e.g., full-service restaurant, bar, hotel, or casino).
Ability to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, including passing a background check.
Current Food Handler certification and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certificate required or ability to acquire upon hire.
Must be at least 21 years old.

Physical Requirements:

On-site work in Madera, CA.
Manual dexterity required.
Ability to stand or walk for the duration of the shift.
Ability to carry trays of food and drinks and lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.
Availability to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, graveyard, and holidays.

Work Conditions:

Constant interaction with fellow team members and guests.
Work environment may be hot, cold, noisy, and contain secondhand smoke.
Duties require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping.
Work may require overtime, varied shifts, and trained chemical usage.
