Job Title: Cocktail Server (Must be 21 years of age or older)

Department: Slots Reports To: Slot Manager Salary: Grade 2

Range Start: $16.00/hour
Range End: $23.25/hour

Classification: Non-exempt Supervises: None

Job Summary: This team member serves beverages and food items to guests in approved areas of the Resort & Casino.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Takes beverage and/or food orders, inputs them into the point of sale system, and serves guests.
Collects orders from bartender and kitchen, adds garnishes, places items on tray, and serves patrons with a napkin.
Computes bills, accepts payments, and makes change.
Removes empty or dirty glasses, bottles, and service ware, returning them for proper cleaning. Keeps ashtrays clean where applicable.
Replenishes beverages as requested and frequently checks back with guests.
Performs side work as directed by management.
Attends trainings, safety, and department meetings as scheduled.
Abides by all State, Federal, and local liquor regulations, including those related to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
Monitors guest intoxication levels according to laws and Resort & Casino policies.
Substitutes as bartender when needed.
Supports the vision, mission, values, and guest service standards of Win-River Resort & Casino.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Slot Manager.

Education Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience and Knowledge Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Ability to obtain and maintain TIPs (Training Intervention Procedures) certification is required.
Prior experience in cash handling required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, smoke-exposed environment.
Excellent guest service skills.
Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, menus, guest relations, and etiquette.
Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items and special promotions.
Ability to operate point of sale systems for order processing and check-out.
Prior restaurant and bar experience preferred.
Food Handler card is required.

Physical Requirements:

Continuous walking and frequent standing.
Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, reaching above/below shoulder level, kneeling, and squatting.
Continuously lifts/carries up to 10 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally pushes/pulls up to 50 pounds.
Dexterity to use office equipment including computer keyboard, calculator, and telephone.
Ability to carry trays of beverages and/or food through crowded rooms continuously during shifts.

Working Conditions:

Frequently exposed to second-hand tobacco smoke.
Usually performs duties indoors.
Occasionally exposed to outside environmental conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions.

Native American Preference Policy applies.
Candidate must meet the suitability requirements to obtain a gaming license from the Redding Rancheria’s Gaming Agency.
