Job Description
Job Title: Bartender
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Operations
Classification: Non-exempt
Primary Responsibilities: We strive to exceed the expectations of our members and guests by providing personalized and attentive service. The bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while supporting the wait staff.
Duties:
Opening Procedures:
- Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Requisition additional supplies and alcohol as necessary.
- Follow set-up procedures.
- Prepare garnishes, mixes, and pre-mixed drinks.
- Check the quality of juices and cream.
- Stock and polish all necessary glassware; inform the manager of shortages.
- Mix, prepare, and serve drinks according to standards. Do not open a bottle unless there isn’t one already open.
During Service Hours:
- Maintain and clean all bar equipment.
- Report complaints to the manager promptly.
- Put away deliveries of beer, wine, and spirits.
- Maintain inventory records to ensure bar stock is always sufficient.
- Inform the manager immediately if stock or quality is below standard.
- Answer the phone and transmit messages as necessary.
- Ensure all club policies and procedures are followed.
- Work safely and report any potentially dangerous situations to the manager.
- Do not serve alcohol to minors (under 21) or intoxicated guests; notify the manager immediately.
- Assist wait staff by attending to details such as refilling water, pulling out chairs, and refolding napkins.
Closing Procedures:
- Sweep and mop bar storage floors at the end of the shift.
- Clean and lock up according to prescribed procedures.
- Replace syrup and CO2 as necessary; store syrup boxes properly when delivered.
- Confirm lock-up with the manager on duty before leaving.
Additional Duties: You may be required to perform other duties as requested by your manager.
Requirements:
- Must be over 21 years of age to serve alcohol.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
