Job Title: Grande Vista Bar & Grill Bartender

Reports To: Director of Restaurants

Overview: Grande Vista Bar & Grill, Emerald Grande’s signature restaurant located on the Destin Harbor, overlooks Florida’s Emerald Coast with spectacular views of the Gulf of Mexico, Choctawhatchee Bay, East Pass, and Destin Harbor. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, full poolside food and beverage service, along with in-room dining.

Summary: The bartender’s primary objective is to provide friendly, responsive, and efficient service to all restaurant and bar guests through effective time management, professionalism, and poise. The position involves mixing and serving drinks, maintaining the cleanliness and stock of the bar area, serving food to customers seated at the bar, managing inventory, and upholding responsible alcohol service. Strong social and communication skills are essential for excellent customer service.

Compensation: $10.98 per hour plus tips.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including classic cocktails, according to recipes and customer requests.
Interact with customers, take orders, and provide a positive and engaging experience.
Ensure the bar area is clean, well-stocked with necessary supplies, and organized.
Track and manage bar inventory to maintain adequate supplies and minimize waste.
Adhere to legal drinking age requirements and refuse service to intoxicated individuals.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two years’ experience in bartending, food and beverage, and/or customer service preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Expert knowledge of drink recipes, mixing techniques, and bar equipment.
Excellent attention to detail, including portion sizing and product presentation.
Team and customer focused with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with professionalism.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Other Requirements:

Valid driver’s license with at least three years of effect, no major violations, and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.
Availability to work seven days a week including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Compliance with all safety rules and use of personal protective equipment as required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Regularly required to sit, reach, talk, hear, taste, or smell.
Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Ability to lift 5-15 pounds regularly and over 15 pounds occasionally with assistance.
Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, wet, humid, dry, and arid.

This position requires excellent communication skills in English, the ability to read and comprehend instructions and safety regulations, and to effectively present information to guests and colleagues.
