Title: Bartender

This position plays a major role in a guest's dinner and bar experience. Consistency is key to providing a positive experience, achieved by always following recipes. A bartender must be friendly, outgoing, and possess good communication skills. Organization and the ability to think and act quickly while maintaining composure are essential.

Responsibilities:

Serve alcohol responsibly; if a guest appears intoxicated, arrange a taxi and seek management intervention if necessary.
Prepare drinks according to specified recipes using proper measuring systems.
Anticipate guests' needs by following the half-full rule and responding to guest signals.
Learn guests' names, occupations, and favorite drinks to create a personalized experience.
Welcome each guest personally within 30 seconds.
Communicate clearly and enthusiastically, making guests feel appreciated.
Work collaboratively with team members to maintain an efficient and pleasant environment.
Keep all areas clean and stocked to company standards.
Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks following standard recipes.
Arrange bottles and glasses attractively according to company standards.
Wash and sterilize stemware.
Attend tables in the dining area when required.
Set up and maintain cleanliness of the bar, tables, and related tools.
Prepare fresh garnishes, stock ice, glassware, paper supplies, and restock liquor and supplies.
Remove soiled wares and wash glassware promptly.
Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs.
Process all payment methods accurately.
Count the cash bank at the end of the shift, complete reports, resolve discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure cash.
Secure all liquor, beer, wine, and storage areas.
Complete closing duties and follow all company safety, security policies, and procedures.
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management.
Maintain a clean, professional uniform and personal appearance.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards and thank them sincerely.
Adhere to quality expectations and standards.

Work Environment and Physical Demands: This position works behind the bar and may be in close proximity to coworkers. Noise levels can be loud, and hazards may include cuts, slipping, and tripping. Physical demands include standing and walking for the entire shift, reaching, bending, lifting up to 35 lbs, carrying, stooping, wiping, frequent hand washing, and good vision and hearing. For outdoor bars, work may occur in temperatures above 90 degrees.

This is a non-exempt hourly position. Days and hours vary by location and may include long hours and frequent weekend work. No travel is required.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.
Prior experience as a bartender in a restaurant setting.
Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits and familiarity with standard drink recipes.
Must have a valid state health and/or alcohol compliance card.
Must be 21 years or older.
