Title: Bartender

The Islands of Islamorada is seeking a bartender to join their team of experienced hospitality professionals.

JOB SUMMARY: The bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, managing inventory, and providing high-quality guest experiences. Duties include greeting guests, taking food and beverage orders, adhering to beverage pour and recipe standards, communicating inventory needs, and maintaining bar cleanliness. The bartender must practice safe alcohol service, including recognizing intoxication and refusing service when necessary, as well as using suggestive selling methods to support revenue growth.

Responsibilities include:

Preparing and serving specialty cocktails, wine, beer, and other beverages
Completing pre-shift preparation such as stocking garnishes, premixing, and creating syrups
Cleaning and sanitizing bar areas and equipment
Opening and closing beer taps properly
Polishing glassware and recording any breakage
Removing trash and restocking service stations
Making coffee, tea, and espresso as needed
Presenting and processing final bills using the POS system
Checking out with the manager after each shift
Assisting team members and attending meetings and training sessions
Complying with all company policies including uniform, attendance, and anti-harassment standards

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours with moderate rest breaks
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly
Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and reach frequently during shifts
Ability to move quickly based on guest needs
Ability to use manual dexterity for tasks such as polishing and operating equipment
Ability to communicate clearly in English and work in a team environment
Ability to complete a satisfactory background check
Availability to work flexible hours including weekdays and weekends

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum 1 year professional bartending experience at a full-service bar
High School diploma or GED
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Solid knowledge of cocktail recipes, beer, and basic wine
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain hospitality under pressure
Enthusiastic and passionate about food and beverage service
