White Oak conserves and sustains some of the earth's rarest wild animals through innovative training, research, education, and conservation breeding programs. Located on 600 acres along the St. Mary’s River in northeast Florida, White Oak manages conservation programs for over 30 species of endangered wildlife in large, naturalistic habitats.

Job Summary: The Bartender provides exceptional bar service that enhances the guest experience through quality beverages and engaging interaction. Supporting the Food Service and Guest Relations teams, this role contributes to a vibrant bar atmosphere while reflecting the organization’s dedication to conservation. The ideal candidate is passionate about bartending, guest service, and creating memorable moments aligned with White Oak's mission.

Essential Duties:

Staff the bar according to guest activity and management direction
Maintain an attractive, clean bar, patio, and service areas, including setup for guest arrivals
Mix, garnish, and serve drinks according to standard recipes while managing guest orders efficiently
Stock and maintain inventory of alcohol, mixers, glassware, and service items; notify management of orders needed
Coordinate with departments for event specifics, providing seamless service
Perform service at outdoor or mobile venues including setup and breakdown
Handle POS transactions and maintain accurate consumption reports; assist in monthly alcohol inventory and ordering
Ensure responsible alcohol service following establishment guidelines
Complete opening and closing duties, maintaining bar equipment
Prepare garnishes, manage waste, and maintain clean glassware supply
Adhere to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment
Collaborate with food service supervisors, chefs, and team members to deliver professional food and beverage services
Assist in staffing various food service periods such as coffee breaks, meals, receptions, and special events
Participate in setting up food venues according to event specifications
Maintain thorough knowledge of all available food and beverage options
Stock and unstock guest lodges with required items
Support guest-related activities including general assistance, maintaining fires, and providing shuttles as needed
Coordinate with Guest Relations regarding activity cooler preferences and deliveries, ensuring alcohol accountability

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred
Minimum two years of experience in bartending, food service, hospitality, or related field

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

General knowledge of bartending practices and procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Flexibility to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Valid Florida or Georgia driver's license
Frequent standing and walking for extended periods
Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching
Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds
Work performed indoors and outdoors, potentially in temperatures above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
