Title: Bartender

Job Location: The Beach House Maui - Kihei, HI 96753 Salary Range: $14.75 per hour

Position Summary: Provide the highest level of quality and service to guests in a friendly atmosphere. Serve food and drinks to guests seated at the bar and in the bar area, support servers by providing drink service in the restaurant, and maintain overall bar cleanliness and organization.

Responsibilities:

Prepare the bar area for service, including setting up linens, silverware, glassware, stocking liquors, garnishes, and mixers.
Greet guests warmly and promptly.
Guide guests through the menu, providing accurate information on ingredients, preparation methods, allergens, and daily specials.
Monitor guests’ condition and alcohol consumption to ensure compliance with all state and local serving policies.
Confirm allergy indicators on orders and handle allergy-sensitive items properly.
Communicate actively with kitchen and management about menu changes and special instructions.
Take and enter food and beverage orders accurately and timely using the POS system.
Verify legal drinking age by checking identification.
Prepare, garnish, and serve drinks promptly to bar guests.
Check in with guests throughout their visit to anticipate and resolve any issues.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized bar area throughout the shift.
Manage checks, special requests (e.g., split checks), and payment processing efficiently.
Restock service areas and dispose of garbage and recyclables appropriately.
Report on time and uphold attendance, uniform, and professional conduct standards.

Requirements:

Six months to one year of related bartending experience.
Proficiency with POS systems.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must pass the Liquor Department test and obtain a liquor card.
Must complete all required training tests with a score of 90% or higher.
Job offer contingent upon background screening.

Physical Demands: This position requires frequent standing, walking, manual manipulation, reaching, bending, grasping, speaking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Use of personal protective equipment is required as applicable.

Work Environment: Fast-paced, moderately noisy, and high-energy setting with a diverse team. The role involves working under pressure and handling busy periods.
