Adventureland Park - J1 Student Bartender

We are currently seeking a J1 Student Bartender for Adventureland Park.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Present menus and promote specials and house drinks.
Check guest identification to ensure compliance with minimum age regulations.
Operate restaurant equipment efficiently (e.g., telephone, juice machine, soda fountain).
Take guest orders, communicate with the kitchen, and deliver food and beverages.
Maintain a clean and sanitary bar area, including bar tops and surrounding areas.
Monitor guests for signs of intoxication and determine when to cease alcohol service.
Adhere strictly to company policies, health department regulations, safety protocols, and alcohol beverage control laws.
Use Point of Sale (POS) systems to accurately handle transactions.
Store and stock supplies such as refrigerators, ice machines, cups, and napkins.
Promptly report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or emergencies to leadership.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

No formal education requirement.
1+ years of bartending experience preferred but not required.
Experience with alcoholic beverage service and regulations is helpful.
Must be Bartender/Server Certified (TIPS) or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

Language:

Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English is required.
Spanish or other bilingual skills are a plus.

Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years old to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must have reliable transportation to and from shifts.
Ability to comply with uniform policies.
Ability to refrain from alcohol consumption while on the job.
Safety-oriented mindset with a thorough understanding of beverage preparation and serving regulations.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to address questions and resolve issues professionally.
Ability to engage guests positively to promote sales and satisfaction.
Previous experience with POS technology and PCI compliance is a plus.
Ability to follow directions, multitask, and work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for most of the workday.
Ability to stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, and reach above shoulders frequently.
Ability to remain seated during computer or POS use.
Ability to withstand heat and humidity from food preparation equipment.
Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more.
Ability to use hands consistently to grasp and control objects/tools.
Ability to use step stools as needed.

Working Conditions:

Work locations may include multiple food and beverage or restaurant areas throughout the park, exposed to indoor and outdoor environments.
Frequent exposure to variable weather conditions including heat, cold, sun, humidity, rain, snow, and ice.
Exposure to high noise levels, flashing lights, repetitive motions, and crowded environments.
Frequent handling of cleaning chemicals and detergents.
Must handle interruptions and reprioritize tasks as necessary.
