POSITION SUMMARY

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests while delivering exceptional customer service. This role ensures all drinks are made to standard, maintains a clean and organized bar area, and adheres to all safety and alcohol service regulations. The bartender collaborates with kitchen staff to create a welcoming atmosphere and contribute to the success of the business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure consistency in recipes and presentation.
Complete all side work during their shift.
Properly handle food and money.
Maintain par levels and control inventory.
Ensure every guest experience is positive.
Prepare the bar area before, during, and after shifts.
Use FIFO procedures and notify appropriate personnel of shortages.
Ensure proper supplies and materials are available for the shift.
Serve as cashier for servers when needed.
Prevent service to minors and intoxicated persons.
Conduct opening and closing inventory of spirits.
Maintain cleanliness by disposing of waste, cleaning glassware, and wiping down surfaces.
Wear proper uniform and maintain a warm, welcoming demeanor.
Step in for other staff as directed or perform other assigned duties.
Attend staff meetings as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

Must have or be able to obtain eTIPS, ServSafe, and TAM certifications or equivalents as required.
Ability to handle crises calmly and effectively, including upset guests, emergencies, and threats.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required. Must be computer proficient and familiar with office equipment. Prior experience in a high-end hotel and/or at least one year of high-volume bar experience is required. Customer service experience is preferred.
