Job Description
Title: Bartender
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from guests.
- Verify guest identification to ensure legal alcohol purchase.
- Communicate with guests clearly and enthusiastically.
- Make guests feel appreciated through your actions.
- Count drinks served to guests.
- Anticipate and offer assistance proactively.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient service environment.
- Collect payment for drinks.
- Prepare cocktails and other drinks by mixing ingredients such as liquor, soda, sugar, and bitters.
- Serve wine, bottled, and draft beer.
- Manage guest intoxication responsibly by persuading guests to stop drinking or arranging transportation.
- Prepare bar ingredients (e.g., simple syrups, sweet and sour) and stock garnishes.
- Clean glasses, utensils, bar equipment, and restock glassware.
- Remove and recycle empty bottles.
- Clean bars, work areas, and tables.
- Balance cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Alcohol Service Certification is a plus.
- Basic math skills to handle money and provide correct change.
- Basic reading and computer skills.
- Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and standard drink recipes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Position Type and Hours: This is an hourly paid position. Workdays and hours vary according to business needs. The establishment operates seven days a week, with shifts starting as early as 9 AM and ending as late as 2 AM.
