Title: Bartender

Summary: The Bartender is responsible for mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests while maintaining a clean and organized bar area according to established policies. They ensure a positive guest experience and interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Mix and serve beverages according to established recipes and procedures.
Verify identification and enforce age requirements.
Prepare both traditional and creative cocktails.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform.
Demonstrate approachability and recognize frequent guests.
Maintain TIPS certification to promote responsible alcohol service.
Uphold all laws related to alcoholic beverage service.
Manage bar inventory and supplies.
Interact with customers, take orders, serve drinks, and process payments.
Assess customer preferences and offer daily specials.
Prepare fruit garnishments and polish bar glasses.
Upsell drinks to maximize profits.
Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy work environment.
Collaborate with beverage servers, barbacks, supervisors, and other staff to ensure efficient operations.
Maintain confidentiality of all information processed within the department.
Participate in required online training and comply with company policies.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

Must meet minimum legal age to serve alcohol.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
Experience with cash handling and POS systems.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedural manuals.
Positive personality and professional appearance.
Knowledge of drink mixing tools, techniques, and mixology.
Understanding of laws and regulations pertaining to alcohol service, including Dram Shop Act.
Ability to enforce company alcohol policies and evaluate customer satisfaction.
Accountability in inventory management and payment processing.
Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and think critically.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum one year bartending experience or equivalent training.
Certification from a reputable bartending school preferred.
Experience in related roles such as server or hostess is beneficial.

Certificates and Licenses:

Must submit supporting education and training documents.
Obtain and maintain Food ServSafe, Alcohol ServSafe, and TIPS certifications within 90 days of employment.
Obtain Food Handlers certification within 90 days.
Pass background check and drug/alcohol screening.
Obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and qualify for company fleet coverage.

Physical Demands:

Ability to talk, hear, stand (6-10+ hours), walk, sit, handle objects, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally lift 50-75 pounds.
Requires good vision including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Public work environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, tobacco smoke, and airborne particles.
Noise levels range from moderate to loud in casino areas.
Strict confidentiality is required.
