Job Description
Title: Bartender
Location: DoubleTree Hotel - Bloomington, IL 61701 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $15.00 - $15.50 Hourly
We are seeking a professional bartender to join the DoubleTree Hotel team. The bartender will provide friendly, courteous, and timely food and beverage service to enhance guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Serve beverages to hotel guests, mixing drinks according to standard recipes
- Greet guests and provide excellent customer service
- Ensure proper bar setup and maintain adequate stock of beer, wine, spirits, glassware, ice, garnishes, and other supplies
- Prepare and store fresh fruit, vegetables, juices, and other perishables to ensure quality
- Check identification and serve alcohol in accordance with State, Federal, and corporate liquor laws
- Manage payment methods and maintain compliance with all regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and perform general cleaning tasks as assigned
- Communicate courteously with supervisors and co-workers
Requirements:
- 1 to 5 years of food and beverage serving experience preferred
- High school education preferred
- Knowledge of beverage preparation, service standards, and liquor laws
- Ability to operate a Point of Sale (POS) system
- Strong communication skills in English (reading, speaking, writing)
- Must be of legal serving age
- Ability to carry trays up to 30 lbs and push/pull equipment up to 100 lbs
- CPR certification and First Aid training preferred
- Neat and well-groomed appearance
