The Bar Manager directs all daily operations in a high-volume sports bar, ensuring exceptional guest service and efficient workflow. Key responsibilities include recruiting, training, coaching, and supervising bartenders and front-of-house staff while maintaining high-performance standards. The manager oversees liquor, beer, and wine inventory, vendor ordering, and cost controls to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
Additional duties involve developing seasonal cocktails, drink specials, and promotional events to increase beverage sales and guest engagement. The Bar Manager ensures compliance with all Illinois liquor laws, health regulations, and responsible alcohol service standards. They also manage cash handling, POS reconciliation, nightly deposits, and accurate financial reporting.
Staff scheduling and labor cost management are critical to maintaining proper staffing levels during peak business hours and special events. The manager promptly resolves guest concerns while fostering a welcoming, team-oriented atmosphere. Collaboration with kitchen and management teams is essential to coordinate food and beverage service, sporting events, and promotions. Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and operational standards throughout the bar ensures a consistent guest experience.
