Bartender

Summary: The Bartender is responsible for greeting customers, taking drink and food orders, mixing ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and sugar to prepare cocktails and other beverages, serving beer and other drinks, and processing transactions. They communicate ticket times and any potential issues to the manager on duty and servers as necessary. The Bartender provides the highest quality of service to customers and associates at all times and performs other duties as assigned by management. This is a non-exempt position, typically reporting to the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or General Manager depending on local requirements.

Essential Functions:

Greet customers and take food and drink orders; provide product information and seek opportunities to upsell.
Follow recipes and product directions for mixing beverages.
Collect payments and operate cash registers following company cash handling policies; secure all monies at the end of each shift.
Follow alcohol awareness procedures to prevent intoxication and manage intoxicated guests.
Adhere to all customer service, adult beverage, and cash handling policies.
Ensure the bar is clean, sanitized, and well stocked.
Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

Must meet state minimum age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
At least 1 year of related bartending experience; experience in high-volume or fast casual dining preferred.
Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and their preparation and presentation, with updates on new recipes.
Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Ability to walk, bend, twist, and stand for normal job functions.
Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
Frequently immerses hands in water diluted with chemical solutions.
