Title: Chophouse Barback

Job Location: Plymouth, IN 46563

The Barback will assist the bartender in all areas as needed. Responsibilities include maintaining an organized bar stocked with appropriate bottles, glasses, and other supplies, and working closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure prompt and friendly service. The Barback plays a key role in ensuring a positive guest experience through consistency and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Welcome each guest personally within 30 seconds.
Stay updated on current menu items, specialties, and any changes or shortages.
Attempt to upsell food and beverage items.
Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks following standard recipes.
Ring drink orders into the computer immediately, collect payment, and make change.
Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display.
Wash and sterilize stemware.
Be attentive and offer assistance proactively.
Strictly abide by state liquor regulations, including laws against serving minors or intoxicated guests.
Promptly bus dishes after each course or at meal end.
Complete closing duties, including breakdown of goods and cleaning of equipment.
Maintain knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies and service standards.
Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly at all times.
Maintain positive guest relations and handle guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
Be familiar with resort services and local attractions to assist guest inquiries.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
Use equipment properly and maintain knowledge of correct maintenance.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous serving or bartending experience required.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must possess an Indiana Liquor Permit.
Must have an Indiana Server Training Certificate.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, and carry large trays.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Able to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours).
Moderate noise environment.
Vision requirements: close, color, depth perception, distance.
Minimal travel required (less than 10%).

Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
Attention to detail.
Availability for varying schedules including evenings, holidays, and extended hours.
Dependability and professionalism in dress and grooming.
