Title: Bar Manager

Location: Ember & Oak, Parsons, Kansas

About Us: Ember & Oak is establishing a new 6,500 sq. ft. restaurant and event space on the historic Katy Golf Club premises in Parsons, KS. As new owners, Tank Connection is investing in the community with a venue set to celebrate its grand opening in August/September 2026, coinciding with the Katy Golf Club's 100-year public anniversary. The facility will include a full-service restaurant, bar, and event space serving golfers, residents, and visitors with standard dining and special events such as tournaments, weddings, and corporate functions. Our mission is to deliver an exceptional experience through quality food, friendly service, and memorable hospitality.

Position Overview: The Bar Manager will lead and launch the bar program for our new restaurant. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop the bar culture, systems, and guest experience from inception. We seek a hospitality professional with strong leadership, beverage knowledge, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead bar operations during the opening and ongoing.
Hire, train, and schedule bartenders and bar staff.
Develop inventory systems, ordering processes, and stock controls.
Ensure exceptional guest service and maintain a welcoming bar atmosphere.
Maintain compliance with alcohol laws, safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
Support beverage programming, promotions, and opening events.
Oversee daily sales, cash handling, and POS accuracy (Aloha/Micros).
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of bar or restaurant management experience.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Solid knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and bar operations.
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Financial awareness in budgeting and cost control.
Experience with staff training, scheduling, and development.
POS experience (Aloha/Micros preferred).
Prior experience opening a new restaurant is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods; walk; sit; use hands; reach; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; talk; hear; taste; smell; and regularly lift/move up to 40 pounds. Vision capabilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment: Exposure to typical weather conditions and moderate to loud noise levels. Must be available weekends, evenings, and holidays.
