Job Description
As a bartender at Sun Outdoors Ocean City in Berlin, MD, you will prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a friendly, efficient manner. Your duties include taking orders, mixing drinks according to recipes and portion control standards, presenting drinks, and providing excellent customer service. You will maintain a clean, stocked bar area and verify guests' legal drinking age by checking IDs. Ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests and respond to inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Mix and garnish beverages following recipes and portion controls.
- Serve beverages and check guests' identification in compliance with laws and company policies.
- Accurately process payments using the point-of-sale system, including cash, credit/debit cards, and gift certificates.
- Stock and maintain bar supplies such as beer, wine, spirits, glassware, ice, and garnishments.
- Prepare fruit and other garnishments before opening.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
- Manage intoxicated guests professionally and refuse service when necessary.
Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and customer service skills.
