Title: Bartender

Location: The Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant Inc - Ellicott City, MD 21042 Salary: $18.25 per hour

Join our team at Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant! We are seeking a dedicated PRN Bartender to support our warm, mission-driven community. This flexible, as-needed position offers various shifts, including 3:00 pm–8:00 pm on select days and Sundays from 10:00 am–4:00 pm, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts.

Responsibilities:

Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with proper garnishes and presentation.
Arrange bar or cart supplies and glassware to create visually appealing displays.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar/cart area at all times.
Accurately record sales, collect payments, and operate the cash register per facility procedures.
Prepare and/or sell food items as needed.
Conduct inventory checks, assess stock levels, and submit orders to ensure sufficient supplies.
Adhere to departmental procedures and facility policies.
Foster and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other departments.
Promote a welcoming, positive, and calm atmosphere.
Attend training sessions and complete TAM (Techniques of Alcohol Management) training, passing the required competency test.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years bartending experience or formal training preferred and verifiable.
Must comply with Maryland state and local laws regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.
Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Skilled with standard office equipment and technology.
Physically able to lift items up to 25 pounds and assist with emergency evacuations as needed.
Compliance with organizational health and safety requirements, including vaccination policies or valid exemptions.
