Title: Zingerman's Roadhouse Barback
Description: The Roadhouse Barback supports bartenders and guests by maintaining bar inventory, cleanliness, and organization during service. Responsibilities include stocking supplies such as ice, glassware, garnishes, plates, silverware, napkins, and menus, ensuring all items are fresh and properly rotated following FIFO guidelines.
The barback adheres to cleaning procedures, keeping counter areas clean and organized, washing and storing equipment and glassware, emptying bus tubs, and pre-bussing bar guests to prevent clutter.
Additional duties include assisting bartenders by refilling guests' water, soda, and coffee, helping with draft beer and non-alcoholic specialty drinks, maintaining keg systems, and proactively attending to guest needs such as providing extra napkins or condiments.
Closing duties involve trash and recycling disposal, restocking wine and beer, emptying bus tubs, cleaning sinks, and leaving a clean workspace.
The role requires knowledge of menu items, ability to assist guests with order selection, understanding wine and beer pairings, and following Roadhouse wine service systems. Communication is key to resolving customer complaints and relaying guest feedback to management.
Performance expectations include punctuality, maintaining a positive, solution-oriented attitude, following table maintenance systems, participation in monthly specials presentations/tastings, and engaging in team communication.
Physical demands require the ability to bend, stoop, stand for long periods, and safely lift up to 50 lbs, including carrying trays and moving between floors.
