**Location:** Michigan Tech University, 1400 Townsend Drive, Houghton, MI 49931

**Position:** On-call Bartender

**Schedule:** On-call; days and hours may vary. More details will be provided during the interview.

**Pay:** $16.00 per hour (fixed rate)

**Job Summary:** Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner in the bar area.

**Responsibilities:**

Comply with state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations, including verifying guest identification and managing intoxicated patrons.
Set up assigned bars, including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, glassware, ice, and garnishes.
Maintain stock and prepare fresh fruit, vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure quality.
Greet guests courteously.
Take and process drink orders; mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes with prudent portion control.
Handle cash transactions, make change, verify charges, and manage vouchers.
Secure beverage products, food, equipment, deposits, and cash drops; lock up after shifts.
Perform general cleaning and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Arrange bottles and glasses attractively in the bar area.
Wash and sterilize stemware.
Perform other duties as assigned.

**Requirements:**

Previous bartending and customer service experience required.
Ability to verify identification and adhere to liquor laws.
Knowledge of handling intoxicated guests.
