Title: Bartender

The Bartender, under the direction of the Lead Bartender, is responsible for welcoming and serving guests food and drinks in a courteous and timely manner while maintaining clean and stocked work areas. This position requires providing attentive, cheerful, courteous, and professional customer service to all customers, striving to exceed their expectations.

Essential Functions (includes but not limited to):

Mixes and serves drinks and food items to guests.
Follows all Kewadin policies and procedures related to bar service.
Prepares ready-to-eat foods in the bar/lounge.
Checks identification to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase.
Ensures the bar is fully stocked and ready for service.
Cleans work and bar areas during and at the end of the shift.
Prevents service to minors or intoxicated guests.
Complies with TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) guidelines.
Rotates inventory to maintain product freshness.
Prepares and cuts fruits/vegetables for garnishments per shift.

Additional Responsibilities:

Processes cash transactions and reconciles with the point-of-sale system.
Performs Bar Server duties as needed.
Carries out other job-related duties as assigned.

Contacts: Works closely with immediate peers, other departments, supervisors, Board of Directors, and customers.

Physical Requirements: Position may require pushing/pulling up to 160 pounds and frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Duties include constant standing, walking, reaching, bending, and manual handling. Exposure to noise, variable temperatures, dim lighting, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and client contact is expected.

Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Prior experience as a bartender or in food service/customer service preferred.
Certification: Must complete TIPS training and certification upon hire.
Skills: Knowledge of customer service standards, basic math skills, excellent communication skills, ability to work under stress and handle difficult situations, adaptability, flexibility for various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to operate POS systems and bar equipment and handle multiple transactions simultaneously. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
Native American candidates preferred.
