Job Description
Title: Bartender
Description: The Bartender will prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and meals to guests, greet and escort guests to tables, and assist in seating, ensuring hotel standards of service. They will take food and beverage orders as needed, retrieve and serve these orders to guests in the hotel rooms and at guest tables according to hotel specifications. All tasks should be performed courteously and efficiently.
The Bartender will also collect payments, maintain cleanliness of tables, service areas, and equipment, stock all necessary wares and equipment for service, and assist in maintaining the Food and Beverage areas and equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet.
- Understand the characteristics and descriptions of all wines and champagnes by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
- Strictly abide by state and county liquor regulations, including those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
- Maintain knowledge of Point of Sale (P.O.S.) and manual systems.
- Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for patrons and chill bottles of wine.
- Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving.
- Serve ice water, coffee, rolls, or butter to guests.
Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- One year of bartending experience preferred.
Licenses or Certificates:
- Food Service Sanitation Certification or equivalent.
- Liquor Serving Permit.
- CPR and First Aid Training.
