Job Description
Omni Grove Park Inn & Spa, a AAA Four-Diamond hotel known for its elegance and southern charm, is seeking a Barback for the Great Hall Bar. The property features scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, excellent dining options, a golf course, fitness center, spa, and convention facilities. Associates enjoy a dynamic work environment, comprehensive training, and mentoring.
Position Overview: Barback responsible for maintaining high standards by ensuring quick, efficient, and professional bar service. Pay is $12 per hour plus tips.
Responsibilities:
- Observe and adhere to all liquor liability laws
- Maintain excellent working knowledge of liquors, beers, and wines
- Requisition and restock the bar with essential products and equipment
- Properly set up and break down service stations
- Assist bartenders with properly mixed and proportioned drinks in a timely manner
- Monitor guests’ alcohol intake, prohibiting service to intoxicated patrons
- Check guest identification to ensure legal drinking age
- Communicate positively with guests and resolve any service issues
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Alcohol training certification (TIPS) required
- Excellent guest service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Strong knowledge of liquors, beers, and wines
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
- Must speak fluent English
