Title: Banquet Bartender

Job Summary: The Banquet Bartender is responsible for setting up, operating, and breaking down bar service during weddings, banquets, and special events. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can efficiently manage high-volume service with professionalism and attention to detail. The ability to serve large numbers of guests promptly is essential. This position suits someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and takes pride in excellent service.

This is a flexible, event-based position, with scheduling driven by the event calendar rather than a fixed weekly schedule. Shifts are primarily in the afternoon, evening, and late-night hours. The primary event days are Thursday through Sunday, with peak banquet seasons in April–May and September–November.

No banquet events occur during June–August due to summer camp operations; however, there may be opportunities in other areas of the property during that time. Additional shift opportunities may be available in the fine dining restaurant and bar during the winter season, offering expanded or year-round employment.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and break down full-service bars, including satellite bars, for assigned events.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standardized recipes and guest preferences.
Greet guests warmly and professionally, taking and fulfilling drink orders efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar throughout events.
Monitor guest alcohol consumption and practice responsible beverage service following local laws and venue policies.
Coordinate with event coordinators and service staff to ensure seamless beverage service.
Craft and serve event-specific or signature cocktails, ensuring consistency in presentation and flavor.
Use point-of-sale systems to enter orders and complete sales when applicable.
Assist with inventory control and report supply needs to the Event Manager.
Perform other duties as requested by management to support successful event execution.

Compensation: Base pay of $16 per hour plus gratuity, with typical earnings ranging from $22 to $50 per hour.

Requirements: Physical:

Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (e.g., kegs, ice, cases of beverages).
Manual dexterity and attention to detail for handling drinks and glassware.
Stamina for long shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:

Prior bartending experience in high-volume or banquet settings strongly preferred.
Knowledge of wine, beer, classic and contemporary cocktails, and proper service standards.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a positive, guest-focused attitude.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing event needs.
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
ServSafe Alcohol or equivalent certification is encouraged.
Experience with modern POS systems is preferred.
