Title: Bartender

Summary: The Bartender is responsible for greeting customers, taking drink and food orders, mixing ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and sugar to prepare cocktails and other beverages. They serve beer and other drinks, complete transactions, and communicate any issues or ticket times to management and servers. The position requires providing excellent customer service at all times and performing additional duties as assigned. This is a non-exempt position that reports to the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or General Manager depending on local requirements.

Essential Functions:

Greet customers and take food and drink orders, providing product information and suggesting upsells
Follow recipes and product directions when mixing beverages
Handle payments and operate cash registers, adhering to company cash handling policies and secure monies at shift end
Follow alcohol awareness procedures to prevent intoxication and manage intoxicated guests
Adhere to HMSHost customer service, adult beverage, and cash handling policies
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and well-stocked bar

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

Must meet state minimum age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages
At least 1 year of bartending experience required; experience in high-volume or fast-casual dining environments preferred
Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, including preparation and presentation, with awareness of new beverage recipes
Friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing interpersonal skills
Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and policies; comfortable conversing with customers
Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Preferred experience in cash handling and customer service
Frequent exposure to water and water diluted with chemical solutions

Location: Albany International Airport Food & Beverage Compensation: $10.35 per hour
