JOB TITLE: Bar Manager - Ohio City Brewpub

EMPLOYER: Saucy Brew Works - Ohio City

REPORTS TO: General Manager

SUMMARY: Manages and directs bar and beverage operations to ensure effective, profitable operation and growth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establish and monitor standards for bar personnel administration, performance, service, advertising, and publicity.
Utilize effective revenue management techniques to maximize revenue.
Oversee the condition of the bar, public areas, and outside grounds, ensuring any deficiencies are addressed.
Maintain visibility and accessibility to patrons, staff, and vendors, ensuring effective communication.
Ensure patrons’ needs are fulfilled and their experience is pleasurable; respond to feedback and complaints.
Establish and monitor inventory levels for supplies and equipment; authorize purchase orders.
Stay informed of industry trends and incorporate relevant information to keep the bar current.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, licensing, and state liquor regulations.
Maintain thorough knowledge of beverage selections, wine list details, menu items, and preparation.
Prepare accurate and timely reports as required.
Assist staff with job functions to ensure optimal service.
Hire, train, supervise, motivate, and develop bar staff; manage schedules and workflow.
Provide day-to-day guidance and recognize employee performance.
Identify problem areas and implement corrective actions.
Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervise 5+ employees.
Carry out supervisory duties per company policies and legal requirements including hiring, training, performance appraisal, discipline, and conflict resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Two to four years of related experience.
Proven supervisory and motivational skills.
Commitment to excellence and high standards.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
Ability to manage priorities and workflow effectively.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Proficient in POS software (Toast), inventory management (xtraCHEF), HR systems (ADP), Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership and business acumen.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Effective communication skills across diverse groups.
