Job Description
Title: BARTENDER
The Bartender creates a friendly and welcoming atmosphere by providing enthusiastic greetings, warm assistance, and genuine farewells. They are energetic, confident, methodical, and able to work quickly in fast-paced environments. A good bartender builds rapport with guests so they feel appreciated and recognized every time they visit.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and sell beverages by following recipes and preparation techniques for wines, beers, cocktails, and nonalcoholic drinks, adhering to proper handling, dating, labeling, and rotation.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately, return correct change, and balance the cash register.
- Set up the bar daily; restock and prepare fresh garnishes and syrups.
- Take and retrieve food orders for guests at the bar and deliver drink orders for servers when needed.
- Complete routine cleaning tasks according to daily, weekly, and monthly schedules, including dishwashing.
- Contribute to daily, holiday, and themed drink menus; inform guests of specials and new drinks.
- Maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
- Check identification to ensure guests are of legal drinking age.
- Maintain personal appearance, grooming, cleanliness, and hygiene; wear proper uniform at all times.
Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours; climb stairs repeatedly; occasionally sit, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to reach shoulder level, above head, and below waist; push, pull, lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in environments with noise, cold, heat, water, and cleaning materials.
- Basic English language, writing skills, and mathematics.
- Preferred alcohol safety training (ASK or ServSafe Alcohol), with company sponsorship provided for certification and annual recertification.
- Must pass state and federal criminal background checks.
