Description:
A Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by preparing and serving beverages, taking food orders, and delivering meals to guests promptly and efficiently. This role requires a strong knowledge of drink recipes, food menu items, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mix, garnish, and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and customer preferences.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, noting special requests and dietary restrictions.
- Deliver food orders promptly, ensuring accuracy and proper presentation.
- Engage with guests professionally, make recommendations, and address concerns.
- Monitor and manage bar inventory, restocking as needed and reporting low stock to management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and dining areas.
- Process payments accurately, handle cash, and operate the point of sale (POS) system.
- Adhere to all local and state alcohol serving laws, including verifying customer age.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure seamless service.
- Assist during special events or busy periods to ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bartender or server in a bar or restaurant preferred.
- Knowledge of a wide range of drink recipes and ability to mix drinks quickly and accurately.
- Familiarity with food menu items and pairing recommendations.
- Excellent customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (kegs, trays), and perform physical tasks.
- Current Beer Savvy Beer Server Certification; bartending license and food handling certification may be required depending on location.
- Ability to work in close quarters and maintain pace during busy shifts.
- Reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends.
