Position: Bartender

Job Description: Under the supervision of the Restaurant Supervisor or Manager, the bartender is responsible for maintaining efficient and courteous beverage operations by greeting guests, anticipating their needs, providing knowledgeable beverage service, and ensuring professional guest relations with a positive attitude. The role requires teamwork and adherence to Oklahoma Liquor Laws, Shangri-La alcohol training, and internal controls.

Reports to: Restaurant Supervisor/Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Recognize levels of intoxication and prevent customers from being overly intoxicated
Maintain a safe work environment
Inform customers about current bar specials and suggestively sell beverages and food
Restock bar supplies including dry goods, glassware, juices, sodas, and garnishes
Notify management when supplies are needed
Provide full bar service including beer and crafted cocktails
Maintain cleanliness of the bar, lounge areas, and equipment
Clean tables and chairs, checking for spills
Maintain and clean all alcohol and soda control devices
Accurately record all sales in the register
Greet customers courteously, offering world-class service
Review and record any shortages or overages for management
Set up bar and seating areas prior to opening
Secure all bar supplies and inventory and maintain daily operation records
Change taps on empty kegs and report issues
Perform all other duties as assigned
Work collaboratively and respectfully with coworkers

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum 6 months bartending experience
Valid ABLE license required
Must be at least 21 years old
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Self-starting with an even temperament
Able to pass a background check
Professional demeanor in customer interactions
Maintain positive working relationships with management and coworkers
Flexible availability
Team player willing to assist others
Able to stand and walk for extended periods
Able to lift at least 30 lbs

Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods; use hands for handling; reach with arms; talk and hear. Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or lift over 25 lbs. Physical stamina and mental fortitude to work under pressure are essential.

Work Environment: Mainly indoor climate-controlled conditions.
