Title: Pool Bar - Bartender

Summary of Position

Responsible for servicing guests and preparing beverage orders, courteously and efficiently serving food and beverages to guests in the food and beverage outlets, including the restaurant and bar. Maintains the bar area and supports restaurant food servers, bartenders, and cocktail servers.

Job Responsibilities

Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to service standards
Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and make recommendations based on preferences
Take guests’ food and beverage orders using suggestive selling techniques
Complete opening duties, including checking quality and quantity of bar stock and supplies
Requisition necessary supplies and transport them from storeroom to bar
Set bar and condiments (garnishes, juices, etc.) according to standards
Prepare fresh fruit garnishes according to service standards
Ensure sufficient supply of flatware, glassware, and chinaware for service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned station and service areas
Record guest orders into the point-of-sale system and handle payments following procedures
Adhere to payment, cash handling, and credit policies
Open wine and champagne bottles and serve according to standards
Retrieve food orders from kitchen
Guide bar back staff to ensure optimal guest service
Remove soiled wares and clean the bar immediately after guests depart
Collect and report tips at the end of shifts
Complete closing duties and reports, reporting to supervisor or manager on duty
Must be RBS and Food Safety certified
Follow all service standards, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols
Work cohesively with coworkers and other departments as a team
Adhere to attendance and reliability standards
Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements

Strong knowledge of beverages, recipes, glassware, and garnishes
Knowledgeable and compliant with state liquor regulations
Understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel
Ability to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision
Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking
Effective communication skills in the primary workplace language(s)
Ability to push, pull, bend, squat, and lift regularly
Use of PPE and safety tools as required
Calm problem-solver with good judgment
Ability to follow directions thoroughly and work well in a team

Work Hours

Flexible shifts based on business needs
Scheduling includes holidays, nights, and weekends depending on hotel events and functions
