Job Description
Job Title: Bartender
Location: Mi Cocina Highland Park - Dallas, TX 75205 Shift: Any (primarily lunch and dinner hours)
Summary: Provide timely, accurate, and friendly service while preparing high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests.
Schedule and Pay: This is a variable hour, non-exempt, below minimum wage tipped position.
Responsibilities:
- Take beverage and food orders from guests and beverage orders from servers.
- Prepare and serve drinks according to the restaurant's standard recipes.
- Learn and recognize regular guests by name.
- Accurately record drink orders promptly into the register system.
- Process guest payments, including credit card transactions and making change.
- Wash and sterilize glassware; prepare drink garnishments.
- Maintain bottles and glassware in an attractive and efficient manner.
- Clear and reset tables in the bar area.
- Present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages and food.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage.
- Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
- Answer phones and provide superior guest service.
- Report equipment and maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
- Fill in as needed to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant as directed.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drink recipes.
- Basic math skills and ability to operate a cash register.
- Ability to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours), reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
- Valid Alcohol Server and Food Handler Certifications required.
