Title: Bartender

Summary: The Restaurant Bartender is responsible for creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere at the bar by crafting high-quality beverages and providing exceptional service to guests. This role includes mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, maintaining cleanliness, and complying with all relevant laws and regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve a wide variety of cocktails, mixed drinks, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and standards.
Demonstrate knowledge of different drink categories, flavors, and preparation techniques.
Suggest and recommend beverages to guests based on their preferences.
Monitor guest alcohol consumption to prevent intoxication or underage drinking.
Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including glassware, equipment, and supplies.
Follow all health and safety regulations related to food and beverage handling.
Greet guests promptly and courteously, creating a positive and comfortable atmosphere.
Engage in friendly, professional conversation and answer guest inquiries about the menu and specials.
Handle guest complaints calmly and professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
Process orders and payments using the restaurant’s POS system.
Maintain accurate inventory of bar supplies and notify management of shortages.
Assist with opening and closing duties, including restocking and cleaning.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum age: 18 years (legal requirement for serving alcohol).
Previous bartending experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
Basic knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cocktail recipes, and bar equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
Strong attention to detail and basic math skills for handling payments.
Must obtain any required certifications or permits for serving alcohol according to local regulations.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Manual dexterity for handling glassware and bar equipment.
Ability to work in a hot and humid environment.
