Title: Bartender

Description: The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving drinks to guests and staff in a professional and courteous manner, maintaining essential hospitality standards such as eye contact, smiling, and polite conversation. The role may also involve serving food upon request.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Greeting and serving guests at the bar
Pouring drinks according to standard specifications
Taking and writing drink orders
Serving drinks to guests and fulfilling orders for Food and Cocktail Servers
Handling cash and credit transactions
Cleaning and maintaining the bar area, including ashtrays, ice bins, shelves, mixers, blenders, and soda guns
Stocking beer and wine coolers
Unpacking deliveries and restocking the bar
Operating bar equipment
Recording accurate "tip out" sheets
Communicating effectively with support staff and management
Notifying management if guests become intoxicated or disruptive
Following uniform and grooming standards

Service Standards: Guest Interaction:

Provide eye contact and a smile upon guest arrival
Immediately offer a glass of water and menus
Place a coaster or beverage napkin to indicate order has been taken
Prepare and serve orders promptly (within three minutes)
Engage guests by making eye contact, smiling, and encouraging enjoyment of their drink
Check in with guests after a few sips to ensure satisfaction and inquire about food orders

Personnel Standards: Uniforms:

Adhere to restaurant uniform standards; uniforms must be pressed, starched, and in good condition
Maintain a clean, neat appearance free of stains
Carry a wine key and charge key at all times

Staff:

Remain engaged, friendly, aware of surroundings, and collaborate well with coworkers
Be knowledgeable of food and beverage menus, ingredients, and inventory
Maintain TABC certification
Complete and pass BarSmarts online training; additional certifications (Cicerone, Sommelier, CCS/CCW) are encouraged but not mandatory

Requirements:

TABC certification required
Completion of BarSmarts online training expected
Professional appearance and adherence to uniform and grooming standards
Ability to follow all company policies and perform assigned duties as directed by supervisors or management
