Title: Line Cook and Bartender

Location: Pullman, Washington

Pay: Starting at $17.13 per hour plus tips

Schedule: Up to 2 nights cooking and 1 night bartending per week, weekends required

Job Summary: The Line Cook prepares and cooks food according to hotel standards for breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and room service, ensuring food consistency and safety. Under the Executive Chef's supervision, the cook maintains a clean and safe work environment. The position also includes bartending duties at the Lobby Bar.

Responsibilities:

Prepare all ingredients before service to ensure readiness
Operate cooking stations efficiently and safely
Prepare food items according to recipes and quality standards
Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards
Practice safe food handling, cooking, and storage methods
Produce high-quality pantry items, sandwiches, salads, and desserts
Manage guest orders in a timely and friendly manner
Inspect food visually before leaving the kitchen
Ensure the workspace is fully stocked and follow opening and closing procedures
Handle and store food items properly
Prepare requisitions for supplies as needed
Follow written or verbal instructions from supervisors

Requirements:

Associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience (6 months to 1 year)
Strong knowledge of food preparation methods including pantry items, sandwiches, salads, and desserts
Ability to use cooking metrics and measurement conversions
Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency
Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Safe Serve/Food Handler’s certification required
Excellent time management and organizational skills

Work Environment:

Kitchen environment with varying temperatures
