Position Title: Barback - Nights and Weekends

Department/Location: Front of House Reporting To: Bar Manager FLSA Classification: Part-Time

Buck & Honey's Monona is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated candidate to join our team as a Barback. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and is interested in learning about bartending. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, available mid-week after 3pm, and on Sundays.

Job Summary:

Maintain inventory by stocking alcohol, garnishes, ice, and other bar supplies throughout shifts.
Ensure bartenders have all necessary items to operate efficiently.
Clean glassware and work areas regularly.
Represent Buck & Honey's brand positively.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleaning Tasks:

Clean bar and table areas.
Wash glasses, cutlery, and dishes.
Run food and clear plates.
Take out trash and recycling during service.
Clean spills and mop behind the bar.
Unclog sinks as needed.

Stocking Tasks:

Keep the bar fully stocked at all times.
Juice citrus and prepare garnishes.
Refill ice wells and replenish bar supplies such as glasses, toothpicks, napkins, coasters, and cleaning towels.
Restock liquor and beer bottles.
Change beer kegs.

Opening and Closing Tasks:

Restock the bar for upcoming shifts.
Put away liquor and beer shipments.
Break down and recycle boxes.

Miscellaneous Tasks:

Assist bartenders with requests during service.
Place incoming orders via the point-of-sale system or notify bartenders.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Education and Experience:

Minimal experience in a similar role preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong communication, planning, organizing, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Excellent customer service skills.
Accountability for actions and outcomes.
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
Maintain high standards of personal grooming and cleanliness.
Ability to use restaurant software.
Must be 18 years or older to serve alcoholic beverages.

Working Conditions:

Primarily active work requiring standing and walking for up to eight hours.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Hearing and vision sufficient to perform duties safely.
Work in moderate to loud noise typical of a restaurant environment.
Exposure to outdoor environmental conditions during summer months.
