Job Description
Title: Cocktail Server - Mahogany
Summary: Responsible for timely beverage service to guests.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take beverage orders from guests, communicate orders accurately, and deliver them promptly.
- Prepare drink orders when the bartender is unavailable.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption for signs of intoxication and enforce company policies.
- Develop and maintain positive guest relations through helpful and interactive service.
- Maintain bar cleanliness and organization, including stocking bar items, filling ice bins, emptying garbage, mopping floors, and cleaning bar mats and coolers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Reporting Line: Report directly to the Beverage Manager, then to the Director of Food & Beverage.
Qualification Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, polite demeanor, and neat appearance at all times.
- Ability to operate all relevant equipment including bar equipment, POS, and cash registers.
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
- Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Availability to work all shifts.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
- Must be at least 21 years old to work on the gaming floor and 18 years old to work in the Mahogany Sports Bar.
- Must pass a background check and obtain and maintain a West Virginia Racing License.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior beverage service experience is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, and Other Skills: TIPS certification is helpful; training will be provided if not certified.
Physical Demands: Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods, and push, pull, kneel, twist, carry, and lift up to 30 lbs.
Work Environment: Work environment includes exposure to noise, smoke/secondary smoke, and seasonal weather elements.
