Job Description
Title: Bar Back
Department: Food & Beverage FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Scope of Position: Ensure the lounge is stocked with proper equipment, an adequate supply of liquor, and is free of debris so that Bartenders and Lounge Servers have the supplies needed to perform their jobs. Ensure a smooth flow of operations in the lounge.
Position Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years’ experience in Hospitality, Restaurant, or a related field.
- TIPS and Food Handlers Card required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Physical Demands:
- Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, sometimes for long periods.
- Twist, bend, lift, reach, handle, and feel to efficiently manage glasses, dishes, napkins, bus pans, garbage, etc.
Required Capabilities:
- Effective verbal and written communication with guests and associates to provide accurate information, directions, and service.
Responsibilities:
- Stock ice bins throughout the shift.
- Efficiently operate and assemble glass washer.
- Properly cut garnishments for drinks using knives safely.
- Set up accurate requisitions for supplies in the lounge.
- Stock an adequate supply of glasses for the shift.
- Frequently check and empty garbage cans.
- Wipe down bar areas and tables as needed.
- Sweep floors when necessary.
- Stock and clean the liquor room.
- Set up food and happy hour displays, replenish food, and break down tables after the event.
- Remove bus pans from the lounge as needed.
- Assist Bartenders and Lounge Servers when required.
- Help decorate the lounge for special promotions.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company policies.
- Attend all required training and meetings.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
