Job Title: Bartender - Jacks Monterey

Location: Monterey, CA 93940 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $17.73 - $19.35 Hourly Shift: Day

Job Description: Jacks Monterey Bartenders are responsible for serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner while complying with all health regulations and local liquor laws. They ensure exceptional guest service and create an inviting atmosphere, adhering to Portola Hotel and Spa’s brand standards for quality and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Serve drinks following standard recipes, policies, and procedures
Provide excellent customer service to positively impact guests' experiences
Maintain a pleasant and helpful attitude towards guests and staff
Recommend dishes, identify ingredients, and explain menu preparation
Complete accurate opening and closing inventory of products
Ensure all equipment is clean and functional
Arrange bottles attractively behind the bar
Verify guest age by checking identification for alcohol purchases
Maintain cleanliness of the bar and lobby tables using sanitation procedures
Recognize visibly intoxicated guests and take appropriate action to cease alcohol service
Uphold sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
Calculate meal costs, present checks, accept payments, and provide change
Comply with company standards of conduct
Demonstrate complete food and beverage knowledge and effectively communicate details to guests

Additional Responsibilities:

Knowledge of hotel food safety compliance and safety procedures to ensure guest and employee safety

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
California Food Handlers/ServSafe Certification (required)
State-approved RSB Alcohol Management Certification (required)

Requirements:

Minimum 6 months food and beverage experience (hospitality preferred)
Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Problem-solving skills
Basic computer and phone skills
