Bartender - The Cliffs Hotel & Spa

We are seeking a gracious, thoughtful, and motivated part-time Bartender to create a luxurious experience while engaging with guests in a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary: The Bartender is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience in the Marisol Bar and Lounge by maintaining timely service and personalized guest interactions. The role models The Cliffs' Mission, Values, and Forbes standards.

Essential Functions:

Available to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week, including weekends, nights, and holidays
Greet and engage guests within 1-2 minutes, using preferred names
Communicate clearly and professionally without slang
Take, place, deliver, and serve food and beverage orders
Acknowledge dietary restrictions, preferences, or allergies
Personalize the bar experience with genuine interest
Guide guests through ordering, providing menu knowledge and recommendations
Anticipate guest needs by offering refills, condiments, and desserts
Respond promptly and professionally to guest complaints with management support
Maintain appearance, sanitation, and service standards in the bar/lounge
Ensure quality in ingredients, preparation, presentation, and temperature of food
Meet time standards and demonstrate selling skills
Close interactions warmly by thanking guests by name
Communicate graciously with guests, management, and coworkers
Comply with hotel and restaurant employment and uniform standards
Perform other tasks as directed by management

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand or walk continuously for eight-hour shifts
Ability to frequently stretch, twist, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds
Ability to work effectively in stressful situations

Education, Experience, and Skills:

High school diploma required; college degree preferred
Responsible Beverage Service training and ABC exam required or must be willing to complete upon hire
Experience in guest services within a luxury hotel environment
Excellent command of the English language
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multitask in demanding situations
