Summary: The Barback supports bartenders by cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes and mixers, and ensuring the bar is fully stocked with necessary supplies such as napkins, straws, glassware, and ingredients. This role requires knowledge of menu items, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness of tables, counters, and bar areas
Collect empty glasses and bottles
Restock supplies including straws, coasters, napkins, and ice
Prepare mixers, juices, cocktail garnishes, peanuts, and fruits
Change beer kegs and replace liquor bottles
Remove trash and clean spills
Assist bartenders during peak hours
Greet patrons and assist with seating if needed
Support bartenders by preparing drinks and handling orders
Ensure compliance with state liquor laws, verifying patrons' legal drinking age
Handle cash register transactions and payments
Clear and reset tables and bar areas
Maintain thorough knowledge of beverage menu, including wines and beers
Perform closing cleanup duties
Resolve patron issues or escalate to management
Answer phones courteously
Assist other staff to ensure excellent customer service
Complete required paperwork and maintain records
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum age 21 years
High school diploma
Previous bar experience required
Food Handler and Alcohol Service certifications required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with team spirit
Basic knowledge of bar menu items and drink recipes
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand throughout shifts
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Strong organizational and customer service skills
Good judgement and communication skills
Professional appearance and demeanor

Physical Demands:

Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching
Ability to lift/push/carry items up to 50 lbs
Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and loud noise
