Title: Bartender

Position Summary: The Bartender ensures customer and server drink orders are prepared promptly according to established guidelines while maintaining bar cleanliness standards.

Essential Functions:

Provide world-class guest service to ensure a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience.
Serve as the location’s expert on bar systems, recipes, procedures, and knowledge of liquor, wine, and beer.
Complete all training requirements.
Greet bar guests promptly and use suggestive selling techniques.
Record beverage orders, enter them into the computer system, prepare drinks according to guidelines, and deliver them to guests.
Monitor guests’ drinks to anticipate re-order requests.
Handle cash transactions, maintain a balanced bar drawer, and perform tip declaration.
Prepare and complete orders for servers.
Wash bar service ware; set up, clean, stock, and maintain the bar area and cooler.
Perform server duties as needed, including handling take-out and associate food orders.
Perform inventory activities as scheduled.
Verify guests’ legal age for alcohol purchase and consumption; prevent overindulgence.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred.
At least one year of experience as a barista, bartender, or in food preparation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Passion for customer service and willingness to learn.
Team player with flexibility and a mindful attitude.
Consistently deliver quality beverages according to standards.
Proficiency in handling cash registers and POS transactions.
Ability to memorize and communicate menu items.
Maintain clean and clear service areas.
Ability and desire to comply with all local, state, and federal laws.

Physical Requirements:

Regular movement including walking, standing, bending, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Independent Judgment:

Perform tasks under general supervision using established procedures with occasional independent judgment.
Make recommendations regarding work procedures, policies, and practices.
