Title: Bar Manager

We operate boutique accommodations and curated food and beverage outlets focused on genuine service, thoughtful design, and a strong sense of place. As we grow, we seek a hands-on Bar Manager to lead daily operations at one of our boutique hotel F&B outlets.

Position Overview: We are looking for a strong, experienced Bar Manager who thrives in fast-paced hospitality environments. This role requires leading daily operations, elevating service standards, and driving the growth of our bar program. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and balances exceptional hospitality with operational excellence. Responsibilities include team development, inventory management, guest engagement, promotions, scheduling, and overall bar performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Service Leadership

Oversee daily bar operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
Lead from the floor by engaging guests, supporting team members, and ensuring smooth service during peak times.
Resolve guest concerns professionally and uphold high hospitality standards.

Team Leadership & Development

Recruit, train, schedule, and develop bartenders and support staff.
Maintain training programs, onboarding materials, and standard operating procedures.
Communicate regularly with team members via Slack, meetings, and updates.

Operational Excellence

Maintain high standards for service, cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
Ensure the bar is clean, well-stocked, and efficient.
Comply with all health, safety, sanitation, and liquor regulations.

Financial & Business Performance

Manage labor costs, scheduling, inventory control, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
Monitor sales, labor reports, and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
Oversee menu updates, pricing strategies, POS management, and operational enhancements.

Inventory & Purchasing

Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
Manage vendor and distributor relationships, negotiating pricing and terms.
Minimize waste, shrinkage, and over-ordering through effective inventory management.

Revenue Growth & Marketing Support

Drive revenue through promotions, upselling, events, and guest engagement.
Collaborate with marketing on campaigns, social media, and community partnerships.
Identify opportunities to increase traffic during off-peak periods.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with hotel operations, front office, housekeeping, and maintenance teams.
Coordinate with accounting and purchasing on invoices, payments, budgeting, and reporting.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of bar management or hospitality leadership experience.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Reliable transportation and access to a personal vehicle.
Fluent in English.
Key West residency or relocation preferred.
Florida Responsible Vendor Certification required within 30 days of hire; Certified Food Manager preferred.
Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

Strong leadership, team development, and accountability skills.
Solid knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and bar operations.
Experience with inventory management, labor controls, scheduling, and cost management.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency with POS systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
