Title: Bartender

Sushi by Scratch Restaurants offers an intimate omakase-style sushi dining experience, combining traditional Japanese techniques with inventive flavors. We are seeking an experienced and polished Bartender to provide exceptional front-of-house service at our intimate 10-seat Sushi Bar.

As the sole FOH member, the Bartender will manage every step of service, ensuring a memorable dining experience. This includes sake and Japanese whiskey pairings as well as à la carte beverage service.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for guests during the omakase experience, coordinating closely with the Chef to ensure timely and efficient service.
Welcome guests, explain beverage options, take and prepare beverage orders, and execute beverage pairings.
Deliver fine dining service focused on storytelling, product knowledge, and genuine hospitality.
Design and implement seasonal Japanese-influenced cocktail menus, including non-alcoholic options, adhering to all local and state liquor laws.
Oversee daily bar setup, preparation, cleanliness, and closing procedures.
Manage guest payments during checkout with attention to detail and courteous service.
Interact warmly and professionally with guests and team members.
Host in the lounge area when required.

Candidate Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years experience as a bartender, sommelier, or fine dining waitstaff.
Priority given to candidates with experience in Japanese beverage service and knowledge of sake and Japanese whiskeys.
Passionate about hospitality, capable of providing thoughtful, precise service that creates lasting guest memories.
Warm, professional communication and leadership skills.
Reliable, flexible team player willing to learn and adapt.
Full-time availability nights, weekends, and holidays from 1 pm to close; overtime may be required.
Valid alcohol certification(s) as required by local and state laws.
