Location: Holiday Inn Resort Pensacola Beach

The Barback is responsible for assisting in cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes, ensuring the bar is well stocked with napkins, straws, glassware, garnishes, and all other necessities, and supporting the bartender to ensure smooth bar operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner, maintaining a positive demeanor.
Promote a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving conflicts calmly.
Assist with opening and closing duties, such as restocking garnishes, straws, napkins, clean towels, and glassware.
Ensure the bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer.
Check taps and appliances for proper function; perform minor repairs or change kegs as needed.
Maintain cleanliness by wiping surfaces, sweeping, mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus, and promotions.
Assist with taking orders, preparing drinks, bussing tables, opening tabs, and processing payments, especially during peak hours.
Maintain records of usage to assist in reordering and ensure proper storage of deliveries.
Arrange bottles and glasses to create attractive displays and keep the bar area organized.
Provide guests with information about facilities, attractions, and activities.
Stay updated on hotel special events.
Handle guest complaints and resolve issues to the best extent possible.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience; hospitality industry preferred.
Ability to interpret written, oral, or scheduled instructions.
Effective English communication skills (read, write, speak).
Knowledge of reservation and POS systems.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with operating software preferred.
Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.
Strong team player.
