Job Description
Title: Bartender - Columbus Georgia Convention & Trade Center
Position Summary: Prepare and serve beverages to guests in the bar area in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to liquor laws regarding service to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Set up assigned bars; requisition and stock beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice, and produce.
- Maintain stock and prepare fresh fruit, vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure quality.
- Greet guests courteously.
- Take and process drink orders; mix, garnish, and present drinks following standard recipes with portion control.
- Verify proper identification of guests.
- Detect and respond to guest inebriation appropriately.
- Handle cash transactions, make change, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed.
- Secure all beverage products, food, equipment, and cash deposits.
- Perform cleaning tasks to meet health and safety standards and keep the work area organized.
- Arrange bottles and glasses attractively in the bar area.
- Wash and sterilize stemware.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of liquor laws.
- Experience in bartending or customer service.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
