Title: Lead Bartender - Graffito Pizza

Compensation Type: Hourly

Location: The AAA Four Diamond JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District is located in historic Savannah on the riverfront, with many attractions within walking distance. Guests can explore downtown shopping, dine at multiple hotel restaurants, enjoy riverside bars, or take city walking tours. The district includes three unique buildings rich in history—the Power Plant, Three Muses, and Atlantic—with architectural and stylistic uniqueness. Guests can also relax at the hotel spa before experiencing vibrant nightlife.

Overview: The Lead Bartender assists in overseeing bar operations, supporting bartenders and bar backs, and ensuring guests receive warm and authentic service. This position provides inspiring and strategic leadership aligned with company values and goals.

Responsibilities:

Coach and develop bar team to maintain elevated service levels
Maintain a positive team environment and morale
Oversee batching processes to ensure quality and consistency
Assist with beverage program development and maintenance
Maintain cleanliness and organization of spirit room, beer cooler, walk-up window, and main bar
Manage ordering of liquor, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic beverages
Conduct inventory management and spot checks
Set par levels for spirits
Train bartenders and bar backs

Time Allocation:

40% Maintaining positive team environment and morale
20% Bar team training
15% Batching and ensuring product quality
10% Coaching to ensure consistent product and service
5% Maintaining par levels and ordering inventory
5% Inventory and spot checks
5% Beverage program development

Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year relevant work experience in a similar role
BarSmarts certification required

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Comfortable working in a busy, noisy, shared space without a private office
Ability to manage changing priorities with professionalism and collaboration
Variable schedules, possibly exceeding 40 hours per week
Work safely in bar and kitchen environments with high temperatures and humidity
Regularly lift/move items up to 10 lbs daily, and up to 50 lbs weekly
Frequent travel by foot, car, bus, airplane, involving standing and sitting periods
